Our Wines

Our mission is to seek quality, both in the vineyard and the cellar, with an unfailing respect for the character of the grapes and the authenticity of our wines. We believe that Vino Nobile terroir as experienced through the Sangiovese grape is unique, and that those who enjoy our wine will be intrigued by the variation that occurs from vintage to vintage.

Stylistically, we would like Salcheto’s wines to be blessed with soft, elegant textures and pronounced, integrated flavors. Ultimately, we hope to produce wine that offers a great experience for everyone--top quality drinking for consumers and a fine quality of life experience for those who work at Salcheto.

For the environment, we aim to create the best quality possible with minimal impact on the land. However, we make no compromises when it comes to quality in the bottle. Those lots that do not come up to our highest standards are not released to the consumer. We hope that through a real respect and understanding for both our land and our wine, we can achieve success on both fronts.

We are most grateful to Paolo Vagaggini, who has been our guide--with his science and keen sense of taste--at Salcheto from day one.
